Co-hosted by Thailand Climbing Development Association (TCDA) and Khon Kaen Climbing Club
The Thailand Climbing Development Association and Khon Kaen Climbing Club are co-hosting the Gym to Rock: Intro to Outdoor Bouldering Workshop at Nam Phong National Park on November 1, 2025. The bouldering area is located about one hour from Khon Kaen town in northeastern Thailand.

This workshop covers the foundational skills of outdoor bouldering — including spotting, topping out, landing, falling safely, using crashpads, route reading, and outdoor etiquette. The goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for new or inexperienced outdoor climbers to learn, connect, and build a stronger climbing community.
Workshop Schedule
Intro to Outdoor Bouldering Workshop
🕘 9:00 – 17:00
Topics include:
- Intro skills: using crashpads, proper spotting, topping out, route reading, and basic climbing techniques
- Outdoor etiquette: safety, minimizing environmental impact, and sharing public space
- Guided bouldering session with experienced Khon Kaen climbers
- Social climbing and mingling with new and experienced climbers
Crashpads
TCDA will provide five crashpads for participants to share during the event. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own.
TCDA Social Dinner

📍 Local restaurant in Khon Kaen (optional)
Join us for dinner and social time with the community (participants pay for their own meals).
Transportation
No transportation is provided. Participants must arrange their own travel to and from the national park.

Limited space — first come, first served.
We can only accept 15 participants for this workshop.
- 500 THB per person (non-TCDA members)
- 300 THB per person (TCDA members)
Includes the workshop and shared crashpads.
Does not include national park entrance fee, accommodation, food, drinks, insurance, or transportation.
1. Is the workshop only one day?
Yes, the workshop takes place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 only.
However, participants are welcome to continue climbing on Sunday with TCDA members. This additional session will be unguided, and crashpads will be shared and limited.
2. What is your refund policy?
We can issue refunds if you notify us within five business days after the event.
3. What should I bring?
Wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for a full day outside. Bring:
- Long sleeves, jacket, and hat for sun protection
- Food, snacks, and plenty of water
- Personal medications
- Climbing shoes and chalk
