Overview of Lopburi
If you have not been climbing in Lopburi before, please read this in entirety especially regarding etiquettes, access issues and parking recommendations.

As of March, 2023, TCDA has instated a 20 climbers quota per at Lopburi to maintain a good and peaceful relationship with the temple and the surrounding community. We ask that climbers check and make advanced reservation for the date they wish to go climb. If 20 climbers quota is exceeded, please consider going climbing somewhere else or change to another day. Khao Chin Lae is a beautiful free standing tower located in Lopburi Pronvince. Being just 2 hours drive from downtown Bangkok, Lopburi is one of Bangkok local climbers favorite areas. But this is not Tonsai, you cannot expect to show up on any given day expecting that there will be climbers. You should arrange a partner and transportation to this local crag.
The tower has been gaining more popularity in recent years among international travelers for its iconic multipitch route, Corcovado. Although the multi-pitch routes are moderate, sharp rocks and vegetation make climbing and descending more complicated.
Khao Chin Lae hosts two distinct areas, the temple areas (Main Wall and Kitchen Wall), and Secret Garden. It is one of the oldest crags in Thailand and has undergone 2 rounds of rebolting and new development by Thailand Climbing Development Association in 2017 and 2022.

Routes are graded from 5 to 8a (open project) with the vast majority being in 6a - 6c, making this crag very accessible to new climbers. Approach from the parking area along the fence of the temple takes about 20 minutes on foot via the stairs from the temple.

GPS for Wat Pa Suwannahong
The best and fastest way is to drive. The crag is located approx. 150 km north of Bangkok. From BKK, take Phaholyothin road to Saraburi, and continue towards Lopburi on the same road. As you approach Lopburi, follow the access map on the right to Wat Pa Suwannahong where you can park and walk to the crag.
Alternatively, you can take public train from downtown Bangkok to Lopburi. The trip should take 3-4 hours. From the train station, you will need to arrange your own private transportation to the climbing area. Taxi is not available in Lopburi and car rental is not common.
PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING (ETIQUETTE AND RECOMMENDATION)
1. Every visitor is expected to greet the monk or the nun upon arrival. They may request to photograph visitors for record in case of emergency. If the monk and nun are absent, visitors may proceed to climb. The approach toward the cliff is via the staircase. Visitors must behave kindly and respectfully toward the monk. The monk and the nun are the reasons that we can have unobstructed access to the climbing area, so please help us preserve relationship with them.
2. This temple is a place of worship. Tt is expected that every visitor is dressed appropriately and behave in respectful manner. Please maintain a low profile during your visit at wat pa suwannahong
3. A donation in good faith is graciously accepted. Even the small amount can go a long way to help with upkeep of the temple and its surrounding area.
4. The temple requests that all climbers depart from the premise before 6:00pm.
5. Parking is available at the temple’s fence (not more than 3 cars). Please be considerate and do not obstruct local traffic. (more parking map below)
6. To enter the temple's premise, visitors should refrain from climbing over the gate. Visitors may crawl through or under the gate.
7. Please practice leave no trace. Do not litter and pack out what you bring in. Do not leave your trash at the temple.
8. Visitors are not allowed to use the toilet inside the temple area. Do not use water at the temple due to limited resources.

เรื่อง กฎเกณฑ์การปีนที่เขาจีนแล วัดป่าสุวรรณหงษ์ ลพบุรี
1. นักปีนและผู้ใช้วัดจีนแลทุกคนเป็นผู้มาเยือน ควรทักทายและแสดงความเคารพเจ้าอาวาส /แม่ชีเมื่อเข้ามาในบริเวณวัดทุกครั้ง (ในกรณีที่ท่านไม่อยู่ประจำวัด สามารถขึ้นได้เลย)
2. แต่งกายให้สุภาพเรียบร้อยและสักการะพุทธสถานและสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในบริเวณวัดก่อนขึ้นเขาทุกครั้ง และเคารพสถานที่เนื่องจากเป็นสถานปฏิบัติธรรม
3. แนะนำให้นักปีนทำการบริจาคเงินหรือสิ่งของจำเป็นแก่ทางวัดแล้วแต่จิตศรัทธา (เช่นข้าวของประจำบ้าน ของใช้ประจำวัด และแนะนำให้บริจาคเงิน เพราะพระมีความจำเป็นเรื่องโรงพยาบาลและยา)
4. นักปีนต้องหยุดการปีนเขาและออกจากวัดก่อนเวลา 18:00 เพื่อเป็นการไม่รบกวนพระและแม่ชี
5. นักปีน สามารถจอดรถด้านนอกของวัดได้แต่ต้องจอดให้เป็นระเบียบไม่กีดขวางทางสัญจรของผู้อื่น และต้องไม่มากกว่า 3 คัน (ดูสถานที่จอดรถเพิมเติมด้านล่าง)
6. นักปีนควรลอดใต้ประตูรั่วแทนการปีนข้าม เหตุเพราะหลายคนปีนแล้วประตูเริ่มพัง
7. ห้ามทิ้งขยะภายในบริเวณวัดและหน้าผา
8. นักปีนไม่ได้รับอนุญาตให้ใช้ห้องน้ำในวัด
PARKING
3 parkings are available.
1. The area along the fence of the temple only fit 2-3 cars (at most) depending on the size of the vehicle. Do not park more than this and obstruct traffic. Do not block the gate of the temple.
2. At the blue house across the temple (currently rented by a climber), and the owner is willing to let visitors park so cars won't block the road. This small parking driveway only fits 3-4 cars, so please do not overly cramp the space. Please donate 20THB to help with the rental of the space.
3. Another parking spot further up the road is an open field after a house on the left. The owner is okay with some cars being parked here. A small amount of donation (20THB) is expected. Please do not obstruct traffic and respect the plantation. Do not drive over any harvest.
